<p>Do not take MESACOL OD TABLET if you are allergic to Mesalamine, salicylates, sulfasalazine, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.</p>

<p>LUNGS</p>

<p>MESACOL OD TABLET should be used with caution in patients with lung problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.</p>

<p><strong>Before taking MESACOL OD TABLET inform your doctor if you:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Use in Paediatrics:</strong></p>

<p>MESACOL OD TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) due to lack of data on safety and efficacy of the medicine. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.</p>

<p><strong>Use in Geriatrics:</strong></p>

<p>MESACOL OD TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.</p>

<h2>INTERACTIONS</h2>

<p><strong>A. Drug-Drug interactions:</strong></p>

<p>Before taking MESACOL OD TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:</p>

<ul>
<li>Sulphasalazine (medicine used to treat ulcerative colitis)</li>
<li>Non- steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (medicines used to reduce fever and provide relief from pain) Ex. aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac</li>
<li>Azathioprine (used after transplantations or to treat autoimmune diseases)</li>
<li>Mercaptopurine (medicines used to treat leukemia)</li>
<li>Medicines used to prevent blood clotting (Ex. warfarin)</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Overdosage:</strong></p>

<p>If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of MESACOL OD TABLET, visit the nearby hospital or consult and inform your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdosage are tinnitus (ringing in ears), dizziness, headache, confusion, drowsiness, shortness of breath, excess loss of water (associated with sweating, diarrhoea, and vomiting), light-headedness (due to low blood sugar), rapid breathing, and/or fever.</p>
