<p>LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE contains Lansoprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors. It is used in the treatment and prevention of intestinal and peptic (stomach) ulcers. Peptic or intestinal ulcers are open sores that form on the inside lining of your stomach and the upper part of your small intestine, causing stomach pain.</p>

<p>LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE is also used to treat reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of lower food pipe due to backflow of acidic stomach material) and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (small tumour in the first part of your bowel due to excessive gastrin secretion).</p>

<p>Before taking LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, phenylketonuria, osteoporosis or if you are about to have a specific blood test (Chromogranin A). LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children.</p>

<p>Your doctor may perform an additional examination (endoscopy) to diagnose your condition or exclude malignant disease and regular blood tests to monitor your levels of magnesium. The most common side effects of taking LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE are dizziness, nausea, headache, diarrhea. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms gets worse over time.</p>

<p>LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE suppresses stomach acid secretion by specific inhibition of an enzyme system at the secretory surface of stomach cells, that results in blockage of the final step of acid production.</p>

<h2>DIRECTIONS FOR USE</h2>
<p>Take LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow with enough water. Do not crush or chew it. For effective results take LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE at least half an hour before food. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE unless your doctor advises you to stop.</p>

<li>Severe hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylactic shock (fever, rash, swelling and sometimes a fall in blood pressure)</li>
<li>Very severe skin reactions causing reddening, blistering, inflammation and skin loss (Ex. Stevens Johnson Syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, erythema multiforme)</li>
<li>Liver inflammation (yellowing of skin or eye)</li>

<h2>HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS</h2>

<p><strong>Diarrhoea:</strong></p>
<p>To avoid dehydration, drink ample amount of fluids such as water, fruit juices or electrolytes. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.</p>

<p><strong>Nausea or vomiting:</strong></p>
<p>Take LANCUS 30MG CAPSULE with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.</p>

<p><strong>Headache:</strong></p>
<p>Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Rest in a quiet and dark room. Massage the scalp or head gently. Avoid drinking excessive alcohol, as it could make your headache worse. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.</p>

<p><strong>Dizziness:</strong></p>
<p>Lie or sit down as soon as you start to feel dizzy. If you're having severe episode of spinning, lie in a dark and quite place and close your eyes. Try to avoid vehicle driving. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.</p>

<p><strong>Skin rash:</strong></p>
<p>Avoid hot showers as it can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing when going outdoors and moisturize your skin regularly. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.</p>
