<p>DRIVING AND USING MACHINES</p>
<p>Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience impaired alertness/reactions (due to hypo/hyper glycemia) while taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET.</p>

<p>ALCOHOL</p>
<p>Do not consume alcohol while taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET since it may reduce blood sugar level.</p>

<p>KIDNEY</p>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET is not recommended in patients with severe renal failure. It should be used with caution in patients with other kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.</p>

<p>LIVER</p>

<p>ALLERGY</p>
<p>Do not take GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET if you are allergic to glimepiride, metformin, voglibose, other sulfonylureas/sulphonamides, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.</p>

<p>LUNGS</p>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with lung problems such as acute/chronic respiratory failure. Consult your doctor before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET.</p>

<p>HEART DISEASE</p>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET) is not recommended in patients with hearts problems such as acute/chronic cardiac failure, recent myocardial infarction. Consult your doctor before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET.</p>
<h2>OTHERS</h2>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET is not recommended for use if you:</p>
<ul>
<li>Suffer from any acute type of metabolic acidosis (build-up of excess acid in the body) such as lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and/or diabetic precoma</li>
<li>Suffer from acute conditions such as dehydration, severe infection, shock</li>
<li>Have severe ketosis (severe complication of diabetes)</li>
<li>Are in a state of diabetic coma</li>
<li>Had severe infections before/after operation</li>
<li>Had severe trauma</li>
<li>Have gastrointestinal obstruction.</li>
</ul>
<p>Before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET, inform your doctor if you:</p>
<ul>
<li>Recently had trauma</li>
<li>Had/scheduled for any surgery</li>
<li>Suffer from febrile infections, fever, and/or uncontrolled diabetes</li>
<li>Are undernourished, and/or have irregular mealtimes/skipped meals</li>
<li>Suffer from imbalance between physical exertion and carbohydrate intake</li>
<li>Have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)</li>
<li>Have a history of laparotomy (surgical incision done into the abdominal cavity for diagnosing a condition), and/or ileus (interrupted movement of intestines)</li>
<li>Suffer from chronic intestinal disease (accompanied by disturbance in digestion and absorption)</li>
<li>Suffer from fever.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Use in Paediatrics:</strong></p>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) since safety and effectiveness of the medicine is not established. Consult your doctor before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET.</p>
<p><strong>Use in Geriatrics:</strong></p>
<p>GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET.</p>
<h2>INTERACTIONS</h2>
<p><strong>A. Drug - Drug interactions:</strong></p>
<p>Before taking GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:</p>
<ul>
<li>Medicine used to treat bacterial infections (Ex. rifampicin, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, sulfacetamide, minocycline, chloramaphenicol)</li>
<li>Medicine used to treat fungal infections (Ex. fluconazole, isavuconazole, miconazole</li>
<li>Oral antidiabetics and insulin (medicines used to treat high blood sugar) Ex. glipizide, glyburide diazoxide</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat cancer (Ex. cyclophosphamide, trofosfamide, vandetanib, crizotinib, olaparib)</li>
<li>Disopyramide (medicine used to treat irregular heartbeat)</li>
<li>Fenyramidol (medicine used to relax muscles)</li>
<li>Pentoxifylline (medicine used to improve blood flow through arteries)</li>
<li>Medicine used to treat joint pain (Ex. Phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone, probenecid sulfinpyrazone)</li>
<li>Azapropazone (medicine used to treat fertility)</li>
<li>Tritoqualine (medicine used to treat allergy)</li>
<li>Acetazolamide (medicine used to treat glaucoma)</li>
<li>Corticosteroids (medicines used to treat inflammation) Ex. prednisolone, methylprednisolone</li>
<li>Diuretics (medicine used to treat water retention in the body) Ex. furosemide</li>
<li>Adrenaline (medicine used to treat serious diseases such as shock)</li>
<li>Glucagon (medicine used to treat severe low blood sugar)</li>
<li>Laxatives (medicines used to treat constipation) Ex.bisacodyl</li>
<li>Nicotinic acid (medicine used to treat niacin deficiency)</li>
<li>Anabolic steroids (synthetic male sex hormones) Ex.testosterone</li>
<li>Phenothiazines (medicine used to treat mental illness) Ex. chlorpromazine</li>
<li>Phenytoin and fenfluramine (medicine used to treats seizures)</li>
<li>H2 receptor antagonists (medicine used to treat acidity and heartburn) Ex. cimetidine ranitidine</li>
<li>Trimethoprime (used to treat and prevent urinary tract infections)</li>
<li>Ranolazine (medicine used to treat chest pain)</li>
<li>Dolutegravir (medicine sued to treat HIV infection)</li>
<li>Cimetidine (used to treat ulcers)</li>
<li>Verapamil (used to treat irregular heartbeats)</li>
<li>Epinephrine (used in emergencies to treat life-threatening allergic reactions)</li>
<li>Fibrate derivatives (used to lower high triglyceride levels) Ex. clofibrate, fenofibrate</li>
<li>Medicine used to treat depression such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. phenelzine, selegiline)</li>
<li>Salicylates (medicine used to treat pain) Ex. aspirin</li>
<li>Medicine used to treat high blood pressure such as alpha blockers (Ex. doxazosin, prazosin</li>
<li>Anticoagulants (medicines used to prevent clotting of blood) Ex. warfarin.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Overdosage:</strong></p>
<p>If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of GLYCIPHAGE VG2 TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar), lactic acidosis, pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas (condition causing build-up of lactic acid in the blood stream), abdominal discomfort, and/or diarrhoea.</p>
