<li>Have a genetic problem caused by a mitochondrial disorder (Ex. Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome)</li>

<p>Before taking EPIVAL 200MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:</p>

<li>Are switching from another medicine that contains valproate</li>
<li>Have fits, a brain disease or condition affecting your brain</li>
<li>Have problems with your pancreas</li>
<li>Have high blood sugar or are being tested for diabetes</li>
<li>Are carnitine palmitoyl transferase type II deficient</li>
<li>Have systemic lupus erythematosus (a rare immune system disease which affects the skin, bones, joints and internal organs)</li>
<li>Have or had depression, mood disorders, or suicidal thoughts or behavior</li>
<li>Have any other medical conditions</li>

<li>Medicines used to calm emotional and mental health disorders (Ex. quetiapine, diazepam, olanzapine)</li>
<li>Moclobemide (used in depression and anxiety)</li>
<li>Selegiline (used to treat Parkinson’s disease)</li>
<li>Warfarin (used for blood thinning)</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat HIV (Ex. zidovudine, lopinavir, ritonavir)</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat bacterial infections (Ex. panipenem, imipenem, meropenem, rifampicin, erythromycin, linezolid)</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat or prevent malaria (Ex. mefloquine, chloroquine)</li>
<li>Temozolomide (used to treat cancer)</li>
<li>Cimetidine (used to treat stomach ulcers)</li>
<li>Cholestyramine (used to control blood fat levels)</li>
<li>Nimodipine (used for bleeding in the brain)</li>
<li>Propofol (used for anaesthesia)</li>
<li>Medicines containing oestrogen</li>
