<p>DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if recommended by your doctor, as it passes through the breast milk and can affect breastfeeding babies. Consult your physician before taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET.</p>

<p>DRIVING AND USING MACHINES</p>

<p>Do not drive or operate any machines after taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, balance or coordination problems, eye problems like double or blurred vision, low blood levels of sodium causing muscle weakness, or decreased consciousness.</p>

<p>ALCOHOL</p>

<p>Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET as it might make you feel sleepy or drowsy. Consult your physician for advice.</p>

<p>ALLERGY</p>

<p>Do not take DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET if you are allergic to Divalproex or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.</p>

<h2>OTHERS</h2>

<p>Do not take DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET, if you have:</p>

<ul>
<li>POLG and its associated disorder, especially in children less than 2 years of age</li>
<li>Urea cycle disorders</li>
</ul>

<p>Before taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET, inform your physician if you have:</p>

<ul>
<li>Systemic lupus erythematosus</li>
<li>Porphyria</li>
<li>Bleeding or other disorders of the blood</li>
<li>Pancreatitis</li>
<li>Hyperammonemia and hyperammonemic encephalopathy</li>
<li>DRESS syndrome</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Use in pediatrics:</strong></p>

<p>DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children (under 10 years of age) as it has not been shown to be safe and effective in this age group. It should be used with caution in children (10 years and older). Consult your physician before taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET.</p>

<p><strong>Use in geriatrics:</strong></p>

<p>DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) with kidney impairment. Consult your physician before taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET.</p>

<h2>INTERACTIONS</h2>

<p><strong>A. Drug-Drug interactions:</strong></p>

<p>Before taking DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET, inform your physician if you are taking any of the following medicine:</p>

<ul>
<li>Other medicines used to treat fits (Ex. phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, lamotrigine, valproic acid, felbamate and topiramate)</li>
<li>Medicines used to prevent pregnancy (Ex. ethinyl estradiol, desogestrel)</li>
<li>Medicines to treat mental illness (Ex. lithium, phenelzine, moclobemide)</li>
<li>Medicines used to relieve pain and inflammation (Ex. indomethacin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen)</li>
<li>Medicines used to control your immune system (Ex. ciclosporin, tacrolimus)</li>
<li>Rifampicin, meropenem (used to treat infections)</li>
<li>Antacids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate)</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat ulcers (Ex. cimetidine and ranitidine)</li>
<li>Medicines used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin, aspirin)</li>
<li>Medicines used to treat HIV (Ex. zidovudine)</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Overdosage:</strong></p>

<p>If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of DEPAKOTE XR 250MG TABLET, consult your physician immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are drowsiness, heart block and deep coma.</p>
